We’re looking for a Sports Journalism Intern to cover VeloU athletes throughout the summer.
This role is focused on telling real stories behind player development — not surface-level highlights, but how athletes actually improve over time. You’ll work directly with athletes and coaches to report, interview, and write features that capture the process behind performance.
You’ll have access to athletes at the high school, college, and professional levels, and be expected to turn that access into structured, engaging written content.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with VeloU athletes and coaches
- Write athlete features, spotlight pieces, and development stories
- Identify storylines around performance, progression, and key decisions
- Translate training concepts, data, and results into clear written narratives
- Contribute written content across blog, email, and social platforms
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing ability with a clear, direct voice
- Interest in sports journalism, baseball, and player development
- Ability to ask thoughtful questions and build a story from interviews
- Attention to detail and ability to structure content
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, content-driven environment
What You’ll Get
- Real-world reporting experience with high-level athletes
- Published work across VeloU platforms
- Access to a unique player development environment
- A strong portfolio of sports writing and feature content
